On The Day

I usually start work at the venue around an hour before the ceremony though I
can go to the bride's house first if required. During the day I take pride in
efficiently working through those shots I have been asked to arrange - setting
them up quickly and quietly but, above all, in a friendly way.

Getting through these shots with reasonable speed also gives you more time to
spend with your guests and me time to photograph you with them in a more
natural style. It is very satisfying that couples so often say afterwards that they
weren't even aware of many of the photographs being taken and also that their
guests commented on how unobtrusively I worked.

I find that many of the best images are captured in this way, as they happen,
un-posed and spontaneously. I am constantly on the lookout for photographs
that will help illustrate the occasion. These can include anything from people
chatting, a detail on a dress, a bunch of flowers, or maybe a table place setting.

Every wedding is different and I never know how many of these distinctive
images will occur, for this reason I do not put a limit on the number of shots I
take - it is usually well over 300 and often over 600!

Coverage normally runs through until you sit down to eat or a little longer to
cover speeches if they are before the meal. When the photography is over I
transfer all the shots onto two CD's; one I keep to prepare your enhanced files
and prints, as detailed on my Prices page, the other I give to you so that you
have all your pictures immediately right there at the reception!
