what would you like to know?

What do the letters LBIPP after your name mean?

They stand for Licentiate of the British Institute of Professional Photography and show that my work has been assessed and approved by a panel of judges consisting of some of the country's most experienced and respected photographers.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, my BIPP membership requires that I hold both professional indemnity and public liability insurance

Do you mind guests taking photos at the wedding?

Not at all, in fact I encourage them to do so and will even offer help and advice if needed!

Another photographer told me that he would only let me have the photographs that were "up to his standard" Do I really get all the photographs you take?

Yes you do. No matter how good they are, any honest photographer will admit that they are happier with some shots than others. However I feel that you should make the choice as to which are kept and which are discarded. A photograph which is less than ideal from my point of view might capture a moment or person that is important to you. I have my input as to the shots I prefer when I make my selection for enhancement and printing but you get all the original files as well as those I feel are "best"

You will give me all your photographs straight away, Why don’t other wedding photographers to do this?

I suspect that they want time to go through and choose which pictures are good enough to “allow” you to see, as described above. I believe that absolutely all your wedding photographs belong to you and have complete confidence in my work so I pass on to you all the photographs I take. You have them all, there and then, on the day of your wedding – something that is a great benefit to you and an offer that I challenge other photographers to have the confidence to match!

600+ photographs seems a lot - do you need to take so many?

The first thing to point out is that they are spread out over several hours and include shots of the venue and your guests as well as yourselves. You will find that I work quietly and unobtrusively and you will often not be aware of the photos being taken at all. Also, I take at least two shots of each of the main groups in case someone has blinked or looked the other way. If I notice something like this at the time I would take an extra shot or two to be sure.
Of course I could take less if you wish but I figure that the more shots I take the better value you get for my fee!

How long does it take you to do the group photos?

That is a difficult question as no two weddings are alike. As a broad rule of thumb, it takes 3 to 5 minutes to locate the people involved and set-up each group. So 5 groups would take about 20 minutes with a further 15 - 20 minutes for the bride and groom on their own. My general advice is to keep arranged pictures to a minimum. No one likes waiting around while they are organised - the less time they take the more time will be available for you to enjoy with your guests - and the more time I will have to capture these special moments.

Do you work outside the Lincoln area?

Yes, I have been commissioned to photograph weddings at venues from Northumberland to Hampshire and even at Lord's Cricket Ground, London.
My fee for these bookings remains at my standard rate with only a small addition to cover travel and sometimes accommodation costs if required. Even with these extra charges couples have often found that my fee is still competitive with photographers more "local" to the area.

Can I have pictures in black and white?

Yes, I normally supply some of your pictures in black and white without extra charge as part of my normal enhancement service.

Do I need to come back to you to get extra prints from my wedding photographs?

You can if you wish but professional lab prices make this relatively expensive. Recent improvements in the processing equipment now make it an easy and economic option for you to get additional high quality prints from the files that I supply you using touch screen units at high street stores or even your local supermarket.

If there is anything that I have not covered please contact me and I will be happy to answer you personally
