Things have changed! It is over 25 years since my first professional wedding assignment and things have changed very much for the better since then! Most of the forced formality and rigid etiquette has (thankfully) disappeared. This has been replaced by wedding days where the bride, groom, their family and friends can get together to genuinely celebrate one of the outstanding events of their lives. My photographic style reflects this change and though some traditional group shots are usually included most of the emphasis is on natural, un-posed pictures. Fundamental to my way of thinking is that it is your wedding and the photographs I take are yours. That might seem obvious at first, but you will find that many photographers are keen to hold onto their copyright of the pictures and will charge extra to let you have the original files - if they let you have them at all! On the contrary, I let you have all of the photographs I take (on CD) at your reception so you can leave on your honeymoon relaxed in the knowledge that they have turned out as you would wish. Copyright is also transferred to you at this point and I give you a written confirmation of this so that you can print and distribute the pictures straight away. Details are on my Prices page. This is typical of my whole approach, which is not to dominate your special day but to do all I can to help you enjoy it - working with you to produce photographs that will portray not just "a wedding" but the atmosphere of an event that is totally unique to you. |
